Miranda Maldonado, DNP, PMHNP-BC
Founder, Maldonado Psychiatry & Wellness
I’m a Columbia University–trained and board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, providing compassionate, evidence-based care for adults. My approach is holistic and solution-oriented, with a primary focus on psychiatric medication management complemented by brief, solution-focused interventions when clinically appropriate. I draw on strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients achieve treatment goals, build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and create lasting change.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, OCD, and life transitions. As a Mexican American and bilingual provider, I understand the importance of cultural connection in mental health care. I’m fluent in both English and Spanish and strive to create a space where every client feels seen, understood, and valued. My goal is to tailor treatment to each person’s unique needs, empowering them to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

What ages do you work with?
What ages do you work with?
I primarily see adults ages 18–65. Patients over 65 may be accepted on a case-by-case basis if their needs can be managed within general adult psychiatry framework. However, if a patient presents with significant medical complexity, extensive polypharmacy, cognitive impairment, or other concerns that warrant specialized expertise, I will recommend a referral to a geriatric psychiatrist, who is better equipped to address the unique needs of older adults. For individuals younger than 18, I recommend care with a child and adolescent psychiatrist.
